Cultivating Faith and Community Impact
About our Church:
On April 18, 1943, (83 years ago) our God built a Church which is the middle building that most of you walk through to get to the sanctuary. It was called Fox Hall Mission which was sponsored by Spurgeon Memorial Baptist.
Two miles up on Azalea Garden Road, on July 12, 1952, (74 years ago) our God built a church call Corinth Mission which was sponsored by Norview Baptist Church.
Fox Hall Mission became Fox Hall Baptist Church, and our God built this very sanctuary in 1954. In 1967 our God built the Educational Building.
In the same time frame our God built new buildings and additions to Corinth Mission which became Camellia Baptist Church.
On July 01, 1990, our God revealed to us what his plan was all along. He put together two bodies of believers, (Fox Hall Baptist Church and Camellia Baptist Church) and we became
“Cornerstone Baptist Church” lead by Rev. Fred J. Braswell.
You see, God knows what would happen if something that didn’t happen happened. Let me say that again for those of you who take notes: God knows what would happen if something that didn’t happen happened.
After 25-years of love and commitment Pastor Fred J. Braswell retired. On July 01, 2015, God led Pastor Tim McClendon to lead and love this congregation faithfully for seven (7) years until he was called back to his home church to serve. As we started to seek God’s will for His church, He blessed us with an Interim Pastor Todd Holt who loved us and pulled us together to serve God as a team. In addition, he introduced us to our current pastor Dr. Sonny Vitaliz.
On July 07, 2024, our God did it again. God showed up and showed off by blessing us with an amazing new pastor (Dr. Sonny Vitaliz). He is truly a servant of God with a humble, kind and loving sprit. He brings along with him an amazing wife, Mrs. Grace Vitaliz. God once again has restored our Hope in Christ Jesus and has shown us favor by calling this amazing man to lead the way. Your prayers have been answered once again.
Philippians 1:6 I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (God is good all the time and we are still here.)
We will not talk today about all the restoration taking place on this property (new roofs, new stage, restoration of second floor education building and new equipment everywhere.) That is only import to us. Let’s talk about what is important to God.
Since last July 01, 2025, God has allowed us to baptize 12 new believers. God has increased our membership by 17-people. It could be 18 if you join today. All this in a time in America when church membership is on the decline. (God is good all the time and we are still here.) Is there anything more important than sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
